Fees and Payments
Once completed your research portfolio will be produced as a CD containing a report and copies of all documents traced in relation to your request. If, however, a hard copy is required, I will provide a bound copy containing all images. I will endeavour to produce completed portfolios within one calendar month, unless an extended period has been previously agreed. The completed portfolio may include, where relevant, secondary source material such as Official and or Regimental histories and newspapers. These sources will only be used to complement the primary sources obtained.
What will this cost you?
Unlike many researchers I do not charge a ‘per document’ fee nor do I produce a pre research price list. This is unrealistic as each client has their own individual requirements. For example a simple request may be responded to after ten minutes in front of a computer screen, other requests may be protracted and require research at a number of different locations or require a detailed perusal of a Battalion war diary.
Each client request is therefore priced on an individual basis and an estimate, which will include document production, will be agreed before any research is undertaken. This will also include fees to be paid in the event of a negative result.
The pre arranged fee will be paid on completion of the requested research by cheque made payable to Steve Roberts Military Ancestry.
In the event of a client requesting research for more than one individual or unit then fees negotiated will reflect time and document production per individual or unit.
All documents included in individual portfolios are produced for the personal use of the requesting client only and any other use will be subject to the relevant archives rules for the use and copying of documents and images and subsequent copyrights of the author.
